Lesson Approach

I tailor my lessons to meet each learner’s needs and goals:
Beginner level: 80% communication skills / 20% understanding Japanese culture
Intermediate level: 60% communication skills / 40% understanding Japanese culture
By learning both the technical aspects of Japanese communication and the cultural background behind it, you will not only move closer to achieving your personal goals (which I’d like to hear about!) but also gain a deeper appreciation of your own culture.

About Me

I have spent 37 years working globally in IT consulting, where I experienced both the challenges and the rewards of cross-cultural communication.
Over the past year, I have been training and gaining practical experience to become a professional Japanese language teacher, and I am on track to obtain my government qualified-certification in July 2026.
I look forward to creating enjoyable, engaging, and meaningful lessons together with you!

日本語コミュニケーションのテクニカルスキルとその背景にある文化を知ることで、あなたの目標達成（最初に聞かせてください）に近づけるようにすると同時に、あなたの国の良さがはっきりとわかるようになります。

私のバックグラウンド：
ITコンサルティングを37年間、グローバルにやってきた結果、多国籍間コミュニケーションの大変さと喜びの両方を味わってきました。直近1年間は、プロフェッショナル日本語教師になるための教育を受け、実践し、2026年7月に国家資格を取得できることになりました。
皆さんといっしょに、楽しく、参加型で、意義深いクラスにしていきたいと思います。
