Welcome! I'm Chika — Your Japanese Teacher
Hello! My name is Chika. I’m a friendly and experienced Japanese teacher who loves helping people enjoy learning Japanese.

★ About Me
I worked as an elementary school teacher in Japan for over 30 years, mainly with younger children. After retiring, I taught for three years at a Japanese school in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
Now I live in Gunma, Japan with my husband. We have three grown-up children.

★ My Hobbies

• Running: I enjoy joining marathon events and have completed a full marathon!
• Baking Bread: I love making hard breads and breads with nuts and raisins.
• Gardening: I grow flowers and vegetables, and take care of fruit trees.
• Organizing: I’m a certified organizing advisor and enjoy creating tidy, comfortable spaces.

★ Lesson Types
　　　I offer different kinds of lessons to match your needs and level:

• Free Conversation
  Let’s talk about your daily life, hobbies, or anything you’re interested in. I focus on helping you express yourself in Japanese, not just grammar and pronunciation. Great for learners who want more speaking practice.
• Textbook Lessons (Minna no Nihongo)
  Please tell me which lesson you’d like to study. We’ll go through it together.
• JLPT Preparation
  Let me know which textbook you’re using, and I’ll help you study for the exam.
• Lessons for Children (attending Japanese schools)
  I support reading aloud and help with understanding the content. Please send a photo of the textbook before the lesson.
• Lessons for Young Children or International School Students
  We’ll play games and do quizzes to get used to Japanese in a fun way.

I’m looking forward to meeting you and helping you enjoy Japanese!

こんにちは！私はちかです。

★自己紹介
私は日本の小学校で30年以上教員をしていました。特に低学年の子どもたちを教えることが多かったです。定年退職後、アブダビ（UAE）の日本人学校で3年間働きました。
家族は夫と3人の子どもがいますが、今は夫と2人で暮らしています。群馬県に住んでいます。

★趣味
○走ること
マラソン大会に出ることが楽しみです。フルマラソンを走ったこともあります。
○パン作り
シンプルなハードパンやナッツやレーズンの入ったパンが得意です。
○ガーデニング
　花や野菜を育てたり、果樹の手入れをしたりすることが好きです。
○整理収納
整理収納アドバイザーの資格を持っています。

★レッスンについて
○フリートーク
文法や発音も大切ですが、日本語で伝えたいという気持ちを大切にしています。
普段の生活のことや興味のあることについて話をしましょう。
日本語を学んでいるけれど、日本語で話す機会が少ない人におすすめです。
○「みんなの日本語」を使ったレッスン
あらかじめ何課を練習したいのか教えてください。
○JLPT対策
あなたが持っているテキストを教えてください。一緒に勉強しましょう。
○子どものレッスン
日本の学校に通っているお子様の音読のサポートをします。音読を聞くだけでなく、内容を理解するためのサポートもします。レッスンの前に教科書の写真を送ってください。
○インターナショナルスクールに在籍している子どもや未就学児のレッスン
ゲームやクイズをしながら日本語に慣れましょう。
