How to Study Smarter for the JLPT: Create a Mistake Notebook!

JLPT

Do you practice lots of JLPT questions but feel that your scores are not improving? One useful study method is to create a mistake notebook! If you only check the correct answers and move on, you may end up making the same mistakes again. Instead, try keeping a record of the questions you get wrong. How to create a mistake notebook Write down the question you got wrong.Record the answer you originally chose.Write the correct answer and explain why it is correct.

Note any unfamiliar vocabulary or grammar.Try the same question again a few days later without looking at your notes. The key is to understand WHY you made a mistake!

For example, when you get a grammar question wrong, don't just memorize the correct answer. Try to understand why the other options are incorrect, too. For kanji and vocabulary questions, learn example sentences along with the meanings. This will help you understand how to use the words in real situations.

A mistake notebook helps you identify your weak points, review more effectively, and avoid repeating the same mistakes. In my lessons, I support students preparing for JLPT N5 to N1, based on their individual levels and goals! Let's go beyond memorizing answers and work together to understand Japanese grammar and vocabulary more deeply. Remember, every mistake is an opportunity to improve! How do you review the questions you get wrong?
