My teacher would send me a piece of writing based on a topic for me to learn and read, then write my own response to the same questions/ prompts. In class, we’d go over the new words and discuss the topics before I would read my piece and she would correct my errors and we’d discuss the topic again based on our new cultural awareness that we’d learnt in the process.

We had a free talk around free topic but the key is she tried to provide some points of grammar or vocabulary and repeat it during the lesson to help me remember it within the lesson timeframe. It is helpful because I am often busy and have no time to review or learn after the lesson.

Grammar, reading and vocabulary for jlpt
I send a soft copy of the book to the teacher, before the lesson I studied it by myself, then what’s the time for the lesson, sensei ask me what I understood the I explain it in Japanese, if I understood wrong she explains to me, or state the missing points, after that she explains the new words in simple Japanese.
For grammar she explains how to use it, then I read the example the she check the meaning of it and if I have questions, then she asks me to give one example in order to know if I got it or not.
